FAQ

1) What is the difference between a tour guide and a driving guide ?

For those of you who are booking private tours for the first time, perhaps a little clarification would help. By law, tour drivers cannot guide inside the sites and tour guides cannot drive. A tour driver and a tour guide are not the same. It is to your advantage when booking a private tour to be sure that you understand the difference and know in advance so that you are guaranteed the kind of guide you are expecting. As a tour driver, we can tell you everything we know about the sites up until you enter the site, but Greek archaeoligical sites and museums are very strict about using only licensed guides within the sites themselves. We can arrange for you to have a guide if you think it is necessary for you to have a full understanding of what you are seeing and there are guides available at most of the sites that you can hire.

2) Are your prices per person?

Prices are per vehicle (up to 4). Participants will share the cost between themselves.

3)Do you put together couples and set-up tours?

If you are a couple and you wish to share the cost, you will have to find another couple by looking at my message board (click the banner on the right side of the website). If nothing suits you then send me a short message and i will post it on my website.

4)How many pieces of luggage we can have with us without the need to hire a second taxi?

You can have up to 4 pieces medium size (weight no more than 30kg) and 2 small hand luggage.

5) How do we meet with you or your driver?

Airport
You'll be met at the airport upon arrival of aircraft as you specified. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs, you'll be routed to the public lounge where throngs of people wait for passengers to come out. Many people will be holding signs and also your driver will be there posting your name. That's how you identify your driver. Make sure to have my phone number with you, you never know what can happen in a crowded and chaotic airport! Normally it takes about 40 minutes from the time when the plane lands until you actually get to the public lounge. If you see that it will take longer, for example if your luggage is lost or simply takes it a long time to come out, please call me from on the phone or ask the custom officer to let you come out for a second to tell your driver you'll be late. If you miss your flight or you experience a long delay, please contact us at the numbers provided. If we do not hear from you, you may be charged for the time we have to wait for you at the airport. If you miss your flight or your flight was cancelled and we do not hear from you , you will be charged for the full amount of your transfer.

Port
There are 2 different terminals where the cruise ships dock (A main gate and B gate). When cruise ships arrive at B , the port authorities usually provide a bus to take you to A (where most of the taxis-limos-buses wait for people). Do not use the bus. Please exit at the gate where the cruise ship docks. We will meet you at the gate (just after customs area) holding a sign with your name on.

Hotel
It surely isn't a problem to meet my clients at their hotel, though it's easier if they're staying in a small hotel rather than a big one. The concierges of the small hotels know each and everyone of their guests so when I go in and ask for my clients they have no problem addressing me to them. That doesn't always work when my clients stay in a big hotel. In this case it's a lot easier for the clients to spot me than it is for me to spot them. The big hotel always have some space outside the door where I can park my car (van) so when I get to the hotel first I go to the concierge and ask for my clients and he calls them in their room to announce me and I tell them that I'll be waiting for them outside near the car, but if they’re not in their room and the concierge can't find them I just go back outside and wait near the car.

Train station

Arriving at the station, just as you come down from the train, you'll see a person with a sign with your name right on the platform where the train pulls in. You should simply come down from your car and walk towards the head of the train until they see this person.

6)Can I cancel my reservation for a tour or transportation?

Yes you can provided that you inform us with e-mail or a phone call at least 1 week prior to our arrangement.

7) How much should we tip?

Tips in Greece are not mandatory but it's customary to give them in proportion to the quality of the service received.
